Spirit of Success

Spirit of Success is a world exploration program which fosters imagination, risk-taking, innovation, and a readiness to undertake new projects, thereby, developing an entrepreneurial spirit within youth. Middle and High School individuals who participate in this program will develop their CORE areas as well as have an opportunity to interact socially in a positive environment while developing trustworthy relationships with peers. Youth will be taught to draw upon their inner strengths and abilities. Program highlights include various field trips exposing youth to numerous ethnic and cultural differences, exposure to arts and music events, as well as employment trainings, academic support, and career development workshops.

On October 28, 2004 our youth took part in the Steppin’ up to Solutions Youth Conference presented by Monroe County Youth Bureau. Participants took part in various workshops such as African Drumming, Media Production, and the Steppin’ up to Solutions Training. Participants were very excited and had lots of fun. 

As a result of attending this day long event, the youth participants of Samaritan Women has submitted a grant application to Youth as Resources ( a community based philanthropy that provides small grants to encourage youth people to design and carry out a community service project that addresses an issue in their community). 

Youth participants worked hard to complete the grant application and are very eager to begin their project! Good job youth!
