Entrepreneurial Attributes
Samaritan Women, Inc. believes that youth can develop entrepreneurial attributes (not specific to starting a business, but more focused on making opportunities out of perceived disappointments). Youth will develop further through a series of workshops and planned activities skills such as:
That cross-trainer you're wearing -- one look at the distinctive swoosh on the side tells everyone who's got you branded. Your T-shirt with the distinctive Champion "C" on the sleeve, the blue jeans with the prominent Levi's rivets ...Samaritan Women, Inc. will ensure that youth understand how to create a powerful and professional self-image that highlights their natural talents and skills, instantly communicating their values and personality.
Combines service objectives with learning objectives, with the intent that the activity changes both the recipient and the provider of the service. This is accomplished by combining with structured opportunities that link the task to self-reflection, self-discovery, and the acquisition and comprehension of values, skills, and knowledge content. Students learn through active participation in thoughtfully organized service that:
Travel is an exciting opportunity to experience different places, different ways of life, and different points of view. Workshops cover safety, health, and money, other practical travel tips. This component was developed to help teach environmental education, interpersonal skills and intercultural understanding to students. Students take home a newfound appreciation of the environment and are inspired to realize that world travel might be a part of their own future. The world becomes the classroom as youth travel to select regions of the world exploring various cities and states, both virtual and real.
